Welcome to Chloe Cooks!

Hello friend! If you’ve made it this far, I already owe you a big thanks. This is my second attempt at a food blog — the first one existed for about 6 months during my sophomore year of college, after which I lost the interest and discipline to continue it. And that is why we are here.

I am heading to culinary school at the International Culinary Center, and I have made a promise to myself to document my journey — learnings, recipes, other anecdotes — along the way. I figure this will be good for:

  1. Encoding the skills and facts I’m learning so that I can remember them in the future, and so that my readers can benefit from them if interested.

  2. Sharing my experiences for those out there who want to know what culinary school is like from a day to day perspective. When I was doing research on culinary schools, I found a lot of online content reflecting on them after completing the programs, or weighing whether to go to them at all, but nothing that covered the whole experience consistently from end to end.

  3. Filling in my friends and loved ones who ask what I am up to these days, whether you are actually curious or just being polite :)

And what better way to accomplish these things than a blog? Accountability is key, and so you, my wonderful visitors, will be the key to enforcing my discipline and pushing me to deliver. I’ve heard that if we make our intentions public, we’re more likely to stick to our guns…so here we go.

Caveat: This is not meant to be a literary or design masterpiece. I’ll keep my posts as structured and visual as possible so that they are easy to follow along, and at the same time I view this as a public journal so you’ll have to forgive me if it isn’t perfect. You may have heard the saying, “perfect is the enemy of good” — right now, I am going for good!

I welcome any questions, feedback, encouragement, requests, and/or ideas, so please drop me a line or leave a note in the comments. Thank you again for visiting and for following my journey!
